AC Milan Eye January Loan for West Ham Striker Niclas Füllkrug
AC Milan are planning to secure a January loan deal for West Ham striker Niclas Füllkrug. The German forward, who joined West Ham from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2024 for £27.5m on a four-year contract, has struggled this season, failing to score in nine appearances. He was notably omitted from the matchday squad during West Ham's recent 3-2 home defeat to Aston Villa.
Füllkrug is reportedly not part of manager Nuno Espírito Santo's plans at West Ham. The club regards the signing as one of the worst mistakes of former technical director Tim Steidten. Due to Füllkrug's wages, a permanent transfer in January appears unlikely; however, a loan move to Milan for the remainder of the season is considered feasible.
West Ham currently sit 18th in the Premier League ahead of their upcoming fixture at Manchester City. The club is also monitoring Norwich's Josh Sargent, though interest in him is not yet advanced. Manager Nuno is seeking to strengthen the squad with a forward experienced in the English top flight, and also requires a centre-back. Financial flexibility might be improved through potential sales of James Ward-Prowse and Luis Guilherme. Additionally, there is reported interest from Brazil for Lucas Paquetá.
