Amazon Removes Baby Outfit Listing Bearing Offensive Phrase Across UK and US Sites
Amazon has removed listings in both the UK and US for a baby outfit carrying the phrase "Santa's favourite ho" due to violation of its content guidelines. The outfit, sized for newborns to five-year-olds, was marketed as a comfortable addition to a child's wardrobe before the removal.
The e-commerce company stated that it uses automated systems to filter and remove offensive products immediately when detected or listed incorrectly, with ongoing efforts to refine these controls. However, Amazon did not disclose how many parents had viewed or engaged with the offensive listing.
The Guardian described the incident as a failure of corporate responsibility and consumer protection, highlighting concerns about sexualized language being associated with children's items. The removal of the product listings was reported on 18 November 2025.
