Amorim Expresses Concerns Over Manchester United's Transfer Policy Amid Injury Challenges
Ruben Amorim has signaled disquiet regarding Manchester United's transfer policy and the budget constraints that are affecting the recruitment of top targets necessary for his preferred 3-4-3 formation. During a press conference ahead of the Leeds game, he declined to comment on whether he had early concerns about the likely availability of sufficient top-quality players in the transfer window.
Previously, on Christmas Eve, Amorim had indicated that achieving a perfect 3-4-3 setup would require significant financial investment and time, implying that an adaptation of the system might be necessary.
Currently, there is no discussion about changing the squad or the transfer window plans. Amorim emphasized that the club is following a process and maintaining an idea that they intend to continue developing.
The team has faced challenges with availability, as eight frontline players have been sidelined due to injuries and AFCON absences. Key attacking players such as Amad Diallo and Bryan Mbeumo are among those unavailable, and Bruno Fernandes remains injured, which limits attacking options.
In defending his substitution choices, Amorim stated that his decisions were intended to protect the team, acknowledging that while some substitutions can be right or wrong, the team continues to create more shots overall.
