A serious car crash occurred around 11am on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Ogun state involving professional boxer Anthony Joshua. His Lexus SUV hit a stationary truck, resulting in a collision that involved five adult males.

Joshua sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital where he remains in stable condition and under observation. Another person was injured, while two passengers died at the scene.

The two deceased have been identified as Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach, and Kevin ‘Lateef’ Ayodele, a trainer. Both were close friends and integral members of Joshua’s team. Their bodies were taken to Livewe morgue.

Joshua was seated in the rear of the vehicle during the crash. The Ogun state police command has confirmed that the incident, which includes Joshua's vehicle, is under investigation.

The Federal Road Safety Corps responded swiftly, arriving within three minutes. Preliminary investigations suggest excessive speed and wrongful overtaking as contributing factors to the crash, which involved Joshua’s Lexus SUV hitting a stationary truck.

Joshua’s camp has confirmed the deaths and requested privacy for the families of the deceased individuals.
