Anthony Joshua Released from Hospital Following Car Crash Near Lagos
Anthony Joshua has been discharged from Duchess International Hospital in Ikeja after a car crash near Lagos on 29 December 2025. The 36-year-old boxer was deemed clinically fit to recuperate at home following treatment for minor injuries sustained in the incident.
The crash tragically resulted in the deaths of two of Joshua's close associates and members of his training team, Sina Ghami and Latif Ayodele. Joshua had been under observation since the accident.
On the afternoon of Wednesday, 31 December 2025, according to Lagos information commissioner Gbenga Omotoso, Joshua was released from the hospital. That day, Joshua, accompanied by his mother, attended a Lagos funeral home to pay respects to the deceased ahead of the repatriation ceremony.
The bodies of the two victims were being prepared for repatriation scheduled for later that evening. The hospital stay was part of Joshua's recovery following the incident near Lagos.
