Anthony Joshua's Driver Charged Over Fatal Nigeria Crash
Adeniyi Mobolaji Kayode has been charged by the Ogun State Police Command on four counts: dangerous driving causing death; reckless and negligent driving; driving without due care and attention; and driving without a valid national driver's licence.
The crash occurred on a major road near Lagos when a black Lexus SUV struck a stationary lorry. The collision resulted in the deaths of two passengers, Latif Ayodele, Anthony Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, Joshua's strength and conditioning coach.
Anthony Joshua was travelling in the back of the black Lexus SUV at the time of the crash. He was injured but has since been discharged from the hospital and is recuperating at home in Nigeria.
Kayode appeared at Sagamu Magistrate Court, with the case adjourned to 20 January for trial.
Lagos state information commissioner Gbenga Omotoso stated that Joshua and his mother visited a funeral home in Lagos to pay their respects to the two deceased friends.
