Antoine Semenyo Close to £65m Transfer to Manchester City from Bournemouth
Antoine Semenyo, who has scored nine goals in 17 league games this season, is nearing a £65 million transfer to Manchester City. Bournemouth have indicated the deal will be finalised this week, with the remaining issue being the payment terms of Semenyo's release clause, valued at just under £65 million and including loyalty money and agent fees.
Manchester City aim to pay the release clause over three years, while Semenyo's personal terms reportedly include a basic salary of about £150,000 a week on a five-year contract. The move could be completed as soon as New Year's Day, with Bournemouth expecting an agreement by Sunday at the latest.
Should Semenyo arrive, Pep Guardiola may consider offloading a wide player to balance the squad. Potential departures include Oscar Bobb or Savinho; Savinho has made eight starts this season (four in the league) with two Carabao Cup goals, whereas Bobb has made 15 appearances without scoring and was limited to just two league appearances after starting City's 3-0 match.
Separately, West Ham had pursued Nathan Aké on loan, but he rejected the move and instead signed a new four-year contract with Manchester City in July 2023.
