Arch Manning Commits to Texas, Aims to Further Develop as Longhorns QB
Arch Manning has stated there is no reason for him to leave Texas and that he wants to continue developing as the Longhorns quarterback. His comments came ahead of the Citrus Bowl amid speculation about a possible transfer or entry into the NFL draft.
In the 2025 season, Manning led Texas to nine wins, threw for 2,942 yards, and scored 32 total touchdowns. Despite these accomplishments, Texas did not reach the College Football Playoff, and Manning was not a Heisman finalist.
Manning’s father, Cooper Manning, had previously dismissed rumors regarding a transfer or NFL draft exit earlier in December 2025.
Arch Manning plans to play in the upcoming Citrus Bowl against the Michigan Wolverines, highlighting his family history with the game and sharing stories from his grandfather, Archie Manning. He indicated that the Citrus Bowl could serve as a benchmark for his improvement heading into 2026 and suggested it might be his final college game.
