Aston Villa have extended their winning streak to 11 matches with a 2-1 victory over Chelsea, equalling a club record. The team currently sits third in the Premier League, just one point behind Manchester City and three points behind leaders Arsenal. Their upcoming match against Arsenal could significantly impact the title race.
Manager Unai Emery emphasized the importance of focusing on each match while maintaining his personal ambition to win the Champions League. He reflected on Villa's performance two seasons ago, when the club finished fourth and qualified for the Champions League but later struggled due to injuries and limited squad depth.
Emery described Arsenal as the favorites and a strong side, noting their strategy of recruiting two players per position, making them a formidable challenge. Villa’s squad will face some difficulties as Matty Cash and Boubacar Kamara are suspended for the Tuesday match against Arsenal.
