Ben Stokes Urges England to Show Fight in Adelaide Ashes Test
Ben Stokes has called on the England cricket team to demonstrate determination and 'dog' in the upcoming third Test at Adelaide Oval to keep their hopes of regaining the Ashes alive. England currently trail 2-0 in the series after defeats in Brisbane and must secure a victory in Adelaide to stay competitive.
Stokes referenced England's previous fight in their Lord's win over India as the kind of spirit required, noting that this message has been reinforced within the team. He acknowledged that some of the perceived lack of fight in the earlier matches could be attributed to the intensity and hostility of the Australian crowds but emphasized that there will be no excuses in Adelaide.
Ahead of the third Test, Josh Tongue has been included in the England XI, replacing Gus Atkinson. Additionally, Will Jacks was selected over Shoaib Bashir, despite Bashir previously being named as the captain's first-choice spinner. Of the 12 England players used so far in the series, only five have prior Test experience in Australia.
The crucial third Ashes Test is set to begin at the Adelaide Oval on Wednesday.
