Beyoncé Declared a Billionaire by Forbes Amidst Successful Tours and Business Ventures
Forbes has declared Beyoncé a billionaire, making her only the fifth musician on Forbes' list of the world's wealthiest people. Previously, Forbes had estimated her net worth at $800 million and predicted she would cross the billionaire threshold.
Her Renaissance World Tour grossed nearly $600 million, significantly contributing to her wealth. Additionally, Beyoncé produced a concert film distributed via an AMC deal, from which she earned nearly half of the film's $44 million global box office.
The 2024 Cowboy Carter album won the Grammy for Album of the Year, marking Beyoncé's first win in that category. The associated Cowboy Carter tour accumulated more than $400 million in ticket sales and about $50 million in merchandise revenue. Notable guests at the tour included Jay-Z, two of their three children, and former Destiny's Child members.
The tour featured top ticket prices reaching as high as £950 in the UK, though some slow ticket sales prompted price reductions, with the cheapest tickets around £71.
Beyond music tours, Beyoncé earned approximately $50 million from a Netflix halftime show for the Christmas Day NFL game and an additional $10 million from Levi's commercials.
For comparison, Forbes lists Jay-Z at a net worth of $2.5 billion (£1.85 billion). Bloomberg's billionaire index listed Selena Gomez at about $1.3 billion in 2024, but Forbes estimates Gomez at $700 million and disputes Bloomberg's figure.
