Binance's new co-CEO Yi He's WeChat account was hacked and used to promote the meme coin Mubarakah (MUBARA), a little-known token that trades on decentralized exchanges.

Changpeng Zhao (CZ), Binance's CEO, urged followers not to engage with posts from the hacked account, citing weak Web2 social media security. He also stated he no longer uses WeChat and hopes that the next incident does not involve his account. Yi He confirmed that she had stopped using WeChat long ago, and the linked phone number was taken over, making account recovery impossible.

This incident occurred about a week after Yi He's promotion to Binance co-CEO at a Binance Blockchain Week event, which co-founder Richard Teng described as a natural leadership evolution.

On-chain data from Lookonchain revealed that the hack was part of a pump-and-dump scheme around MUBARA. Two new wallets spent 19,479 USDT to purchase approximately 21.16 million MUBARA tokens on PancakeSwap and other decentralized exchange routes. The attacker exploited the hacked account to create FOMO (fear of missing out), triggering a price and volume spike visible on Dexscreener charts.

Lookonchain estimates that the attacker sold 11.95 million MUBARA for 43,520 USDT and still holds 9.21 million tokens worth about $31,000, resulting in an estimated profit near $55,000 with potential to unload more tokens.
