Birmingham City Secure 3-2 Victory Over Coventry City; QPR Win 3-0 Against Sheffield Wednesday
Birmingham City ended a seven-game winless streak by defeating Championship leaders Coventry City 3-2 at St Andrew's. Birmingham's Marvin Ducksch scored twice, opening the scoring from a Kai Wagner cross and adding a late near-post finish after a clearance. Kai Wagner, who was signed from Philadelphia Union for £2m, provided the assist for the opener and started the match. Lewis Koumas also scored for Birmingham, marking his first goal for the club after joining on loan from Liverpool.
Coventry City's Josh Eccles equalised with a 25-yard shot following an attack buildup. However, Birmingham maintained their lead despite Bobby Thomas being sent off for Coventry in stoppage time after an altercation involving a Birmingham defender. Coventry's goalkeeper James Beadle made a significant save late in the game from Ellis Simms.
In other Championship action, Queens Park Rangers (QPR) won 3-0 against Sheffield Wednesday. Rayan Kolli scored twice, while Rumarn Burrell scored the opener for QPR but suffered an injury during the match. This victory was QPR's first in four matches.
