Bournemouth Eyes Brennan Johnson as Replacement for Antoine Semenyo Amid His Imminent Move to Manchester City
Bournemouth have identified Brennan Johnson as a potential replacement for Antoine Semenyo, who is set to join Manchester City in a £65 million deal. Manchester City is actively accelerating talks with Semenyo's representatives and is currently the only club advancing with a move to trigger his release clause, which was inserted last summer. Despite interest from rival clubs, City remains at the forefront of this transfer.
Semenyo's sale could also financially benefit Bristol City, who are due 20% of any profit Bournemouth makes from the transfer, after Bournemouth signed Semenyo from Bristol City for £10 million in 2023.
Meanwhile, Crystal Palace have expressed admiration for Brennan Johnson, who was signed by Tottenham Hotspur from Nottingham Forest for £47.5 million. Tottenham may be willing to either sell or loan Johnson, who has started only one of their past seven matches this season despite being Spurs' leading scorer last season and scoring the winning goal in their Europa League triumph.
