British Boy Stabbed to Death in Tomar, Portugal
A 13-year-old British boy was stabbed to death in Tomar, Portugal. Both the boy and the alleged attacker suffered blade injuries, with the boy's death declared at the scene. The alleged perpetrator is the boy's mother's former partner, who had previously served a prison sentence for aggravated homicide. The boy's mother was found restrained and assaulted and was hospitalized.
Authorities were alerted to a domestic violence situation. Inside the house, there was a strong smell of gas shortly before a gas explosion injured a National Republican Guard officer.
The case is being investigated by Portugal's Judicial Police. The family had been flagged in 2022 and 2023 due to domestic violence concerns.
The Foreign Office stated it was in contact with local authorities and was ready to provide consular support.
