A 43-year-old British man residing in Queensland was charged with three counts of displaying prohibited Nazi symbols and one count of using a carriage service to menace, harass, or offend, as reported by the AFP on 8 December 2025.

Authorities conducted a search of the man's Caboolture home on 21 November 2025, seizing swords bearing swastika symbols along with axes and knives.

The AFP alleges the man posted Nazi content on X, espousing pro-Nazi ideology targeting the Jewish community and advocating violence. These posts occurred between 10 October and 5 November 2025. After his main account was blocked, he set up a second handle to continue posting.

Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke announced the cancellation of the man’s visa, stating that Australia would seek his deportation. Burke framed visa cancellation as warranted when someone on a visa promotes hate.

Burke also indicated that proposed hate speech legislation would expand powers to cancel visas on the basis of incitement of hate.

This visa cancellation follows Burke’s earlier revocation of the visa of South African Matthew Gruter after his involvement with an NSN rally; Gruter left Australia voluntarily following detention and deportation proceedings.

Burke signaled an aim to shut down Islamist and far-right extremists, including groups like NSN, through a new hate-group listing regime similar to the existing terror listing scheme.
