BYU Triumphs Over Georgia Tech in Pop-Tarts Bowl Featuring Unique Pastry-Themed Celebrations
The BYU Cougars defeated the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets 25-21 in the Pop-Tarts Bowl held at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida, on December 27, 2025. BYU ended the season with a 12-2 record, while Georgia Tech finished at 9-4.
Pop-Tarts branding was prominently featured throughout the event, appearing in the end zones, on the sidelines, and even adorning the helmets with colorful sprinkles. During the pregame ceremony, six Pop-Tarts pastries were split into two teams: Team Sprinkles, consisting of Protein Slammin’ Strawberry, Cookies and Crème, and Frosted Cherry; and Team Swirls, made up of Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Frosted Wild Berry, and Frosted Hot Fudge Sundae.
A special Pop-Tarts Ring of Honor was unveiled to honor Cookies and Crème, Hot Fudge Sundae, and Frosted Wild Berry, complete with commemorative jackets issued to those pastries. Strawberry and Cinnamon Roll were also recognized.
In the game, BYU trailed 21-10 entering the fourth quarter but rallied after a blocked Georgia Tech field goal with 55 seconds left in the third quarter. Touchdowns by Enoch Nawahine and Jovesa Damuni, along with a two-point conversion by quarterback Bachmeier, secured the comeback victory.
During the on-field celebrations, Protein Slammin’ Strawberry unexpectedly bailed on the toaster celebration, diving off the toaster and running away with a sign reading "Not my dream... yet." Meanwhile, Cookies and Crème and Frosted Cherry were toasted and served to the champions.
