Cameron Menzies Suffers Hand Injury Following Shock Defeat to Charlie Manby at PDC World Darts Championship
On 15 December 2025, Cameron Menzies, ranked World No. 26 from Scotland, sustained a deep cut to his right fist after punching the drinks stand following a 3-2 first-round defeat to Charlie Manby at the PDC World Darts Championship held at Alexandra Palace.
Charlie Manby, 20, from Huddersfield, recovered from a deficit to win the deciding set and take the match 3-2. Menzies had led twice during the match, securing the opening set and moving 2-1 ahead before Manby rallied to claim the final set.
In frustration, Menzies punched the underside of the table three times, causing water bottles to fall. The crowd booed as he walked off with blood streaming from his hand, after apologising to the fans.
This incident marked Menzies' second consecutive first-round exit at Alexandra Palace, following his tearful loss to Leonard Gates the previous year.
Sky Sports commentator Glen Durrant remarked that the incident was likely something Menzies would regret for the rest of his life, calling the ending unfortunate and not what anyone wanted to see.
