Citigroup Projects Bitcoin Price to Reach $143,000 in 12 Months
Citigroup analysts Alex Saunders, Dirk Willer, and Vinh Vo have set a base case target price of $143,000 for Bitcoin within the next 12 months. This forecast implies a potential upside of approximately 62% from the current Bitcoin price of around $88,000.
The base case outlook is driven by expectations of revived demand for Bitcoin ETFs, favorable stock-market forecasts, and the potential passage of U.S. digital-asset legislation in the second quarter. A key regulatory catalyst mentioned is the Clarity Act, which has reportedly passed the House and is expected to encourage further adoption and fund flows into Bitcoin.
Citigroup also provided a bear case scenario with a target of $78,500 and a bull case with a target of $189,000. The analysts highlighted a crucial support level at $70,000, which coincides with Bitcoin's price ahead of Donald Trump’s 2024 election victory.
