Civil Service Pension Delays Spark Complaints Against MyCSP
A civil service retiree has faced significant delays in receiving their pension, having retired five months ago without payment. Despite multiple complaints to the Civil Service Pension Scheme (MyCSP), the individual reported no response.
The Pensions Ombudsman requires evidence that MyCSP has not replied to complaints, leading the reader to seek advice on how to provide such proof.
In June 2025, the National Audit Office criticised MyCSP for failing to provide adequate service, noting a rise in complaints and delays in pension valuations and payments.
Capita assumed the MyCSP contract in December 2025, taking over from the Cabinet Office's previous arrangements.
Regarding this case, the Cabinet Office stated it awaited information from the reader's employer, while the employer insisted that relevant information had been provided weeks earlier.
Following queries about the delay, a backdated pension payment of £21,300 was made six days later.
MyCSP maintained that it delivers high standards of service but declined to comment specifically on the reader's experience.
