Coinbase Expands Tradable Assets and Launches New Features to Become the Everything Exchange
Coinbase announced a dramatic expansion of its tradable assets, adding hundreds of top stocks by market cap and trading volume at launch, with plans to include thousands more stocks and ETFs in the coming months. These assets will be usable with USD or USDC within a single Coinbase app. Trading will be zero-commission and available 24 hours a day, five days a week. Early next year, stock perpetuals will extend to 24/7 access for non-U.S. traders.
This initial stock-trading expansion is anchored by Kalshi's $11 billion prediction market platform. This integration enables trades on real-world events such as elections, sports, collectibles, and economic indicators, with prices determined by market activity. Coinbase plans additional integrations with other platforms.
Supporting these new offerings is Coinbase Tokenize, the firm's end-to-end platform for tokenizing real-world assets, which will facilitate retail access to tokenized stocks on the exchange. In addition, Coinbase unveiled an AI-driven wealth management tool called Coinbase Advisor, designed to provide personalized portfolio construction and market guidance.
Coinbase Business services will be extended to all eligible U.S. and Singapore-based businesses, providing payments, invoices, asset management via Coinbase Advanced, and workflow automation for crypto assets. The Base Ethereum overlay is now available globally in more than 140 countries, though no updates on a Base token were provided.
The platform is also expanding Solana token access through integration with the Jupiter DEX aggregator, enabling users to perform in-app swaps without leaving Coinbase. Moreover, Coinbase offers more than 30 futures and perpetual contracts in the U.S., covering cryptocurrencies, commodities, and equity indices. This includes 15 perpetual-style crypto futures such as BTC, ETH, SOL, and XRP, with plans to expand to hundreds more.
