Crypto Investor Christopher Harborne Donates $12 Million to UK Reform Party
Christopher Harborne, a Thailand-based entrepreneur with investments in stablecoin issuer Tether and crypto exchange Bitfinex, donated 9 million pounds (approximately $12 million) to the UK Reform Party, according to an Electoral Commission filing on December 4, 2025.
This donation marks the largest-ever single donation to a UK political party by a living donor. The previous record was 10 million pounds, bequeathed by Lord John Sainsbury to the Conservative Party in 2022.
Harborne had previously donated to the Reform Party in 2019, when it was known as the Brexit Party, and had also supported the Conservative Party in past years.
Notably, the Reform Party reportedly received more in donations than any other UK party during the third quarter of 2025.
Despite Harborne's extensive crypto investments, the 9 million pound contribution was made in cash rather than cryptocurrency.
Nigel Farage's Reform Party has actively sought crypto support and pledged to establish a bitcoin reserve if elected.
