Crystal Palace Draw 2-2 With KuPS in Conference League, Face Playoffs
Crystal Palace drew 2-2 with KuPS at Selhurst Park in their 27th Conference League game of the campaign. The result means Palace finish outside the Conference top eight and will have to contest a two-leg playoff at the end of February.
Glasner fielded a largely second-string side that featured four teenagers. George King and Dean Benamar made their debuts, while 16-year-old Joel Drakes-Thomas became Palace's fourth youngest player.
Palace took the lead in the first half through Christantus Uche. However, KuPS equalised within three minutes of the break with a goal from Piotr Parzyszek following a break by Otto Ruoppi.
KuPS then took the lead when Ibrahim Cissé diverted a shot past Walter Benítez. Parzyszek's potential second was disallowed for offside in the buildup.
Palace were able to equalise again in stoppage time when Devenny headed in a cross from Will Hughes, setting up a dramatic finish. During the match, Clinton Antwi was sent off for a studs-up challenge on Tyrick Mitchell.
In the 64th minute, Glasner introduced Marc Guéhi, Tyrick Mitchell, and Will Hughes from the bench to try and change the momentum of the game.
Separately, Palace's Carabao Cup quarter-final against Arsenal was rescheduled for next week, as the club prioritized their Premier League clash with Leeds, giving less than 48 hours to recover between matches.
