Digital Asset Secures Strategic Investments from Major Financial Firms for Canton Network
Digital Asset, the creator behind the Canton Network, has secured strategic investments from four major traditional financial players: BNY, Nasdaq, S&P Global, and iCapital. Although the size of the investment was not disclosed, this backing highlights growing demand among legacy financial firms for regulated and interoperable blockchain infrastructure.
The Canton Network currently supports over $6 trillion in onchain assets across 600 institutions. It enables these institutions to issue and trade tokenized real-world assets on a shared ledger while maintaining necessary privacy and compliance. The network is designed to balance decentralization with the safeguards required by traditional finance.
Yuval Rooz, CEO of Digital Asset, stated that institutions increasingly recognize the necessity of blockchain infrastructure tailored for regulated markets. This strategic deal follows Digital Asset's $135 million funding round in June, which was led by major players including BNP Paribas, TradeWeb, Goldman Sachs, DRW, and Citadel Securities.
