DOJ Files Confirm Trump Listed on Epstein's Jet for Multiple Flights Between 1993 and 1996
The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) disclosed files confirming that Donald Trump was listed as a passenger on Jeffrey Epstein's private jet for eight flights between 1993 and 1996. At least four of these trips included Ghislaine Maxwell, with flight logs marking initials JE and GM present. One specific flight on 13 August 1995, from Palm Beach to Teterboro, documented passengers including Donald Trump, his son Eric Trump, Jeffrey Epstein, and Maxwell. Some flights reportedly featured only Trump and Epstein as passengers, while other trips included women who could potentially serve as witnesses for Maxwell.
This information originates from a 7 January 2020 email authored by an assistant U.S. attorney in the Southern District of New York. The DOJ has clarified that this note does not establish any wrongdoing by Trump. Trump has denied any involvement, stating in 2024 that he was never aboard Epstein's plane.
The documents form part of the largest release of Epstein-related files to date, totaling over 30,000 pages across eight batches. Despite a Congressional deadline to publish all files, the release was not fully completed by that time. The DOJ also warned that some materials contain untrue or sensational claims and emphasized that the information is being released with protections in place to safeguard Epstein's victims.
This release comes in the wider context of Epstein's 2019 death while awaiting trial, and Maxwell's 2022 sentencing to 20 years in prison for her role in Epstein's crimes.
