DOJ Releases Hundreds of Thousands of Epstein Files, Identifies Over 1,200 Victims
The Department of Justice is releasing hundreds of thousands of files related to Jeffrey Epstein under the Epstein Files Transparency Act, which was signed into law by President Donald Trump in November. The material review identified more than 1,200 victims or relatives among the documents.
The release includes new photos of Epstein with former President Bill Clinton. However, victims' names and identifiers, as well as those of politically exposed individuals and government officials, have been redacted.
A letter from Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche to the House of Representatives outlines the meticulous production process. Over 200 DOJ attorneys, including 187 from the National Security Division and a 25-attorney quality-control team, have worked across multiple review layers.
The documents encompass Epstein and Maxwell-related materials, flight and travel logs, immunity or non-prosecution agreements, and related DOJ communications about charging decisions. Redactions were applied to protect victims, avoid jeopardizing ongoing investigations, and shield sensitive national defense or foreign policy information.
Deputy Attorney General Blanche stated the review found no credible evidence that Epstein blackmailed prominent individuals. The production of these files to Congress is expected by year’s end, with ongoing review continuing thereafter.
