Drift Launches v3 on Solana with 10x Faster Trades and Enhanced UX
Drift has launched Drift v3 on the Solana blockchain, marking a major upgrade aimed at delivering centralized exchange (CEX) level speed and user experience (UX) for on-chain trading. The platform now boasts trade execution speeds 10 times faster than before thanks to a rebuilt backend, with about 85% of market orders filling in under 0.5 seconds.
The upgrade also enhances liquidity depth, reducing slippage on larger trades to roughly 0.02%. Take-profit and stop-loss orders update within a single Solana slot, and oracle prices refresh on the same timeline. Mid-trade gas fees have been abstracted to improve user experience.
The refreshed user interface includes a cleaner portfolio page, clearer account displays, and a simpler borrow-lend section. Cindy Leow, a core contributor at Drift, stated that v3 aims to achieve CEX-level performance on Solana and be the fastest, most intuitive, and most capital-efficient perpetuals platform in the cryptocurrency space.
Further planned features include auto-signing, easier deposits, isolated margin, and a mobile app. Additionally, Drift has introduced a Liquidity Provider Pool allowing users to supply liquidity to perpetual and spot markets while earning yield.
Drift remains one of the largest perpetuals trading platforms on Solana with its latest upgrade positioning it for enhanced speed, efficiency, and user-centric design.
