Eagles Clinch Second Consecutive NFC East Title as Cowboys Extend Super Bowl Drought to 30 Years
The Philadelphia Eagles have clinched their second straight NFC East title, becoming the first repeat champion of the division since 2004.
Meanwhile, the Dallas Cowboys have been eliminated from the 2025 playoffs, extending their Super Bowl drought to 30 years.
Dallas needed to win their final three games while hoping for the Eagles to lose their last three to capture the division title; however, this scenario did not unfold.
The Cowboys made significant roster moves during the season, including trading a 2027 first-round pick and a 2026 second-round pick to the New York Jets for defensive lineman Quinnen Williams, who is under contract through 2027.
This acquisition followed an earlier trade of linebacker Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers, which left Dallas’ defense ranked 29th in the NFL without him.
Though Dallas experienced a three-game winning streak in November, it was followed by a 44-30 loss to the Detroit Lions on December 4, which dropped their playoff odds to 8% before a subsequent defeat to the Minnesota Vikings.
With their elimination, the Cowboys will conclude their season facing the Los Angeles Chargers with no playoff implications, ending the year without a postseason appearance.
