Elon Musk Criticizes Gavin Newsom's Office Amid Personal Comments on His Son's Mental Health
Elon Musk's America PAC reposted a clip of California Governor Gavin Newsom discussing transgender athletes on The Ezra Klein Show. In response, Newsom's press office issued a sharp reply on X, stating, "Correct. We’re sorry your daughter hates you, Elon."
Musk referred to his child as Xavier and asserted that Xavier has a tragic mental illness caused by what he termed the "evil woke mind virus," while affirming his love for Xavier. He also mentioned his other daughters—Azure, Exa (who goes by Y), and Arcadia—and claimed they love him.
Musk emphasized his views on gender, pinning a post declaring, "If you have a womb, you are a woman. Otherwise, you are not."
In a 2024 interview with Dr. Jordan Peterson, Musk said he was "essentially tricked" into consenting to puberty blockers for his son Wilson and expressed concerns about suicide risk for one of his older children. Additionally, Musk discussed the concept of deadnaming, explaining that calling a transgender person by their birth name constitutes deadnaming. He reiterated his perspective by stating that he views his son Xavier as dead, having been harmed by what he called the "woke mind virus."
