Enzo Maresca Confirms Future at Chelsea Amid Manchester City Speculation
Enzo Maresca has downplayed speculation linking him to Manchester City, affirming that the rumours do not affect him and that his contract with Chelsea runs until 2029. He has stated that his future is with Chelsea and expects to be the head coach next season.
Although Maresca has not clarified his exact standing with Chelsea's hierarchy, he revealed that he has been in discussions with Chelsea's sporting directors since last weekend. The speculation connecting him to Manchester City is thought to stem from his previous role as Pep Guardiola's assistant at City during the 2022-23 season, but Maresca says he does not care about the reason for these reports.
Chelsea recently progressed to the Carabao Cup semi-finals after defeating Cardiff City. The travelling fans even chanted Maresca's name in support. He highlighted Chelsea's achievements under his leadership, including reaching the third Carabao Cup semi-final in 18 months, finishing fourth in the previous Premier League season, and qualifying for the Champions League with ambitions to improve further.
At present, Maresca is focused on the upcoming trip to Newcastle rather than the ongoing speculation linking him to Manchester City.
