Ethereum Foundation Appoints Hsiao-Wei Wang and Tomasz Stańczak as New Leaders to Guide Next Phase
In February, the Ethereum Foundation (EF) appointed Hsiao-Wei Wang and Tomasz Stańczak as new leaders to steer the foundation's next development phase.
Wang brings seven years of experience as a core researcher within the EF, while Stańczak previously led one of Ethereum's major software client teams, Nethermind.
This leadership change introduces a hybrid approach that combines deep protocol research with seasoned software development expertise to scale Ethereum's infrastructure.
The appointments coincided with significant price movements in Ethereum's native cryptocurrency, ETH, which rose from $1,554 in April to a record high of $4,886 in August, before retreating to $2,806 at the time of publication.
Since assuming their roles, Stańczak has actively engaged the community by hosting open calls to solicit input on the network's direction.
The EF also released updated roadmaps focusing on privacy, security, and the emerging role of artificial intelligence within the ecosystem.
Moreover, Stańczak has interacted with traditional financial institutions amid growing interest in tokenization and exchange-traded funds (ETFs).
Though the EF does not control Ethereum's technical roadmap, it remains central in supporting developers.
The new leadership marks a turning point and the beginning of a new chapter for Ethereum's future.
