An overhead power-supply fault in the Channel Tunnel, followed by a Le Shuttle train failure, has caused significant disruption to Eurostar and Le Shuttle services.

The 7:01am Eurostar train departing from St Pancras International this morning is currently about four hours late and has yet to arrive in Paris.

Eurostar has urged passengers to postpone their journeys and advised not to come to stations unless they already hold a ticket.

Le Shuttle, the service that transports cars and freight between Folkestone and Calais, is also experiencing severe disruptions and is working to resolve the issue.

As a result, queues of motorists have formed at the Folkestone terminal due to the service interruption.
