Eurostar and Le Shuttle services resume through Channel Tunnel after power fault disruption
Eurostar and Le Shuttle services through the Channel Tunnel have resumed after disruption on Tuesday caused by an overhead power supply fault and a failed Le Shuttle train blocking all routes.
Repair work was carried out overnight, allowing tunnel services to resume in both directions on Wednesday morning.
Most Eurostar services from London St Pancras departed on Wednesday morning, although three services to Paris Gare du Nord, Brussels Midi, and Amsterdam Centraal were cancelled.
Eurostar warned of possible knock-on delays and last-minute cancellations and advised passengers to check live updates.
Enhanced compensation is being offered, including a 100% refund of the ticket price and an additional 150% of the ticket price as an e-voucher.
While the Le Shuttle service from Folkestone was running normally, delays of about one hour persisted at Calais.
Getlink confirmed ongoing overnight work to fix the power issue; the Channel Tunnel carries both Eurostar trains and Le Shuttle vehicles.
