Exeter Chiefs defeated Leicester Tigers 24-10 at Sandy Park, moving to second place in the Premiership and within one point of the leaders, Northampton.

Exeter’s tries included Greg Fisilau opening the scoring after seven minutes, followed by a 50m solo try from 20-year-old Exeter University product Campbell Ridl after 25 minutes. Stephen Varney sealed the match with a breakaway try in the 71st minute.

Leicester’s only try was scored by Cameron Henderson and converted by Billy Searle, who also received a yellow card during the match. Exeter’s Tuima was sin-binned later in the game, while Searle was also sin-binned in the 61st minute.

Exeter were without Len Ikitau due to injury. Leicester head coach Geoff Parling commented that the Tigers lacked edge during the first 30 minutes, while Exeter coach Rob Baxter noted that his team could improve accuracy.

Exeter will travel to Bath next week, carrying growing momentum from this victory.
