Explosion and Fire at Silver Lake Nursing Home in Bristol Township, Pennsylvania Injures Multiple People
An explosion and fire broke out at the Silver Lake Nursing Home in Bristol Township, Pennsylvania, injuring multiple people. Emergency crews were dispatched around 14:00 local time. Some individuals may be trapped as part of the structure collapsed and the fire remains active. Local utility PECO reported a gas odour on site and confirmed the explosion occurred while crews were present. Consequently, natural gas and electric services to the building were shut off. The cause of the explosion is currently under investigation, and the number of injured has not been confirmed. Governor Josh Shapiro expressed his prayers for the community and stated he is in contact with local officials and first responders. Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick urged the public to avoid the area and mentioned that his team is in direct communication with authorities.
