Guardiola Reflects on Manchester City's Energy Revival After Challenging Season
Pep Guardiola has acknowledged that both he and his Manchester City players experienced a lack of energy during last season, which led to a difficult campaign. He described a fog that clouded the training centre and admitted to feeling personal exhaustion. However, Guardiola noted that City has since regained energy, dispelling the previous fog.
Manchester City are currently on a strong run, having secured six consecutive Premier League wins and eight victories in all competitions, sitting second in the league, just two points behind Arsenal. A key moment in this revival was identified as last summer’s Club World Cup in the United States, which marked a turning point for the squad's energy and competitiveness.
The team’s recent successes include Rayan Cherki scoring a late winner against Nottingham Forest, extending their winning streak. Off-season, Manchester City made strategic changes to the coaching staff by bringing in Pep Lijnders, Kolo Touré, and James French, aiming to improve the environment and mindset around the team.
