Hannah Hampton was named the FIFA Best Women’s Goalkeeper for 2025, recognizing her outstanding performances between 11 August 2024 and 2 August 2025.

She played a crucial role in England's victory over Spain in the Euro 2025 final by saving two penalties.

Hampton’s success was also supported by her Chelsea teammates, with whom she won a domestic treble last season, further contributing to her FIFA Best award.

In addition to the FIFA accolade, she secured the Ballon d’Or prize for goalkeepers in September 2025.

Hampton became the sixth different winner of this award since its inception in 2019, following previous recipients such as Sari van Veenendaal, Sarah Bouhaddi, Christiane Endler, Mary Earps, and Alyssa Naeher.

The shortlist for the award included Ann-Katrin Berger, Cata Coll, Christiane Endler, Anna Moorhouse, Chiamaka Nnadozie, and Phallon Tullis-Joyce.

Voting for the award was divided equally among a panel of experts, women’s national team captains and coaches, football journalists, and fans.

Parallelly, Gianluigi Donnarumma won the FIFA Best Men’s Goalkeeper award for 2025 after helping Paris Saint-Germain to a quadruple and lifting the Champions League, with PSG also achieving a domestic treble.

Donnarumma, aged 26, has since joined Manchester City and expressed enthusiasm for further success with his new club.

FIFA president Gianni Infantino commended Hampton in a social media post, praising her as an inspiration to young people worldwide.
