Harry Redknapp's The Jukebox Man to Contest King George VI Chase at Kempton
Harry Redknapp's horse, The Jukebox Man, trained by Ben Pauling, is set to challenge in the King George VI Chase at Kempton on Boxing Day with 6-1 odds. Redknapp described the King George field as one of the strongest in years and believes The Jukebox Man has a real chance if he continues to improve.
The Jukebox Man previously won a Grade One novice chase over the King George distance on Boxing Day last year. Redknapp, who has owned racehorses for about 40 years, highlighted the prestige of competing in the King George, comparing it to the Champions League in its challenge and status.
Redknapp's involvement in horse racing began with a seven-person syndicate in Bournemouth, which included trainer David Elsworth and the horse Slick Cherry. Another Redknapp-owned horse, Shakem Up’Arry, achieved success by winning at the Cheltenham Festival last year, a high point in Redknapp's ownership journey.
Sandra Redknapp will attend Kempton on Friday to watch The Jukebox Man race, reflecting the couple’s active participation in the sport.
