Ian Rush Released from Hospital after Intensive Care Stay for Flu
Ian Rush, Liverpool's all-time leading goalscorer, was released from hospital after a two-day stay in intensive care due to flu. He was admitted to the Countess of Chester hospital with breathing difficulties and was subsequently moved to intensive care. Rush went home on Monday and is understood to be recovering well.
Rush scored 346 goals in 660 appearances for Liverpool across two spells, winning five First Division titles and two European Cups with the club. He also earned 73 caps for Wales. His career included spells at Juventus, Leeds United, Newcastle United, Sheffield United, Wrexham, and Sydney Olympic before retiring in 2000.
Liverpool FC expressed gratitude to the hospital for providing the best care possible for their legend and ambassador.
