Informa Begins Search for New Chairman as John Rishton Plans Departure
Informa, the FTSE-100 events group known for organizing the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show and World of Concrete, has initiated a search for a new chairman to succeed John Rishton. Rishton, who has chaired the company since 2021 and served as a director for nearly eleven years, is expected to step down in 2027.
Russell Reynolds Associates is managing the chairman recruitment process. Informa, with a market capitalisation of approximately £11.3 billion, has seen significant growth driven largely by its large data division.
Previously, the company's portfolio included Lloyd's List, the historic maritime news service and reputedly the world’s longest published business newspaper.
Informa's CEO, Lord Carter (Stephen A. Carter), recently moved his residency to Dubai to better align with growth prospects in the Gulf region, and there is discussion about extending his tenure by at least two years. On Monday, Informa's shares closed at 885.2 pence.
