Informa Begins Search for Successor to Chairman John Rishton
Informa has initiated a search for a successor to its chairman, John Rishton, with Russell Reynolds Associates overseeing the process. Rishton has held the chairman role since 2021 and has been a director for nearly 11 years, with an anticipated step-down around 2027.
The company, which has a market capitalization of approximately £11.3 billion, saw its shares close at 885.2p on Monday. Informa's growth has been driven partly by its large data division; among its assets was Lloyd's List, known as the world's longest-published business newspaper.
Earlier this year, Informa’s chief executive, Lord Carter, relocated his residency to Dubai to align with the company's growth prospects in the Gulf. This move may lead to an extension of his tenure by at least two years.
The concurrent search for a new chairman and Carter's relocation suggest potential continued leadership stability with an extended horizon for Informa's management team. The company has declined to comment on the search for Rishton's successor.
