Informa plc Begins Search for New Chairman as John Rishton Plans Departure
Informa plc, a FTSE-100 events group known for organising the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show and World of Concrete, has launched the search for a new chairman. The recruitment for the successor to current chairman John Rishton is being managed by Russell Reynolds Associates.
John Rishton has served as chairman since 2021 and joined Informa's board in September 2016. He is expected to step down around 2027 after nearly 11 years as a director. Informa's chief executive, Lord Carter, who relocated his residency to Dubai motivated by growth prospects in the Gulf, has been in his role for about 12 years and may extend his tenure by at least two more years.
Informa has a large data division that has contributed significantly to its recent growth. Additionally, the group’s past assets included Lloyd's List, noted as the world's longest published business newspaper. Currently, Informa holds a market capitalisation of approximately £11.3 billion, with shares closing at 885.2p on the day of the announcement.
