Jacksonville Jaguars Extend Winning Streak to Six, Keep AFC No. 1 Seed Hopes Alive
The Jacksonville Jaguars improved their record to 11-4 after a 34-20 victory over the Denver Broncos, extending their winning streak to six games and maintaining hopes for the AFC's No. 1 seed.
This turnaround followed a 5-4 stretch earlier in the season and was aided by a trade for wide receiver Jakobi Meyers along with a bye week. Under offensive coordinator Liam Coen, the Jaguars retooled their offense with a run-focused scheme that allowed quarterback Trevor Lawrence to throw more effectively downfield.
Meyers brought added reliability and versatility, contributing to increased offensive efficiency. Since the trade, Jacksonville ranks 8th in Expected Points Added (EPA) per play and 5th in dropback success rate. Lawrence responded with a four-game stretch featuring 13 touchdowns and zero turnovers, using more leg involvement and demonstrating greater control on the field.
The Jaguars' defense and improved turnover production worked in concert with the upgraded offense, transforming Jacksonville into a legitimate contender.
During the game against Denver, key halftime penalties—including roughing the passer on Lawrence and pass interference on Jahdae Barron—pushed the Jaguars ahead 24-17. Lawrence scored afterward, and the team sealed the win with a late interception by Jarrian Jones.
Looking ahead, Jacksonville’s schedule includes games against the Philip Rivers–led Indianapolis Colts and the Tennessee Titans. A strong finish could secure them the AFC’s top playoff positioning if they win out.
