Jamie Oliver Group Cuts 20% of Workforce Ahead of Jamie's Italian High Street Comeback
Jamie Oliver Group has made 25 of its 126 employees redundant, cutting 20% of its workforce following a consultation process that has now concluded. A spokeswoman confirmed the number of redundancies but did not disclose reasons or information about the status of those departing.
These job cuts relate to the group's main commercial operations, including media activities and partnerships with third-party entities. Importantly, they are not connected to the planned revival of Jamie's Italian, the restaurant business set to make a high street comeback.
This revival is being led through a partnership with Brava Hospitality Group, which also owns Prezzo. Jamie's Italian originally went into administration in 2019, resulting in the loss of approximately 1,000 jobs. The comeback is being launched six years after the collapse.
Separately, Kevin Styles, who served as chief executive of Jamie Oliver Group for just over two years and previously worked at Thomas Cook and Vue, stepped down from his role. Details about his replacement have not been disclosed, and no formal announcement has been made on the group's website.
