Jones revealed the gesture during a radio interview with 105.3 The Fan, stating that it was both helpful for the team and fun.
The Cowboys defeated the Commanders 30-23, sweeping the season series between the two teams. This victory moved Dallas's record to 7-8-1, though they had already been eliminated from playoff contention heading into the game.
The team had recently made a coaching change, replacing head coach Mike McCarthy with offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer, who was undertaking his first role as an NFL head coach.
