Juventus Draw 1-1 with Lecce After Jonathan David's Missed Penalty
Juventus and Lecce played to a 1-1 draw at Juventus' home ground, leaving Juventus fifth in the league table with 33 points. Milan currently leads the table with a game in hand. Lecce occupies 16th place with 17 points, five points above the relegation zone.
The match saw Lecce take the lead just before half-time through Lameck Banda, capitalizing on a wayward pass from Juventus. Early in the second half, Weston McKennie equalised four minutes in, with a deflected shot by Yildiz setting up the goal.
A crucial moment came when Jonathan David missed a Panenka penalty, with his shot saved by Lecce goalkeeper Wladimiro Falcone after Mohamed Kaba’s handball blocked the attempt. Falcone also saved a late effort to secure the draw for Lecce. Juventus continued to press in added time, with Yildiz hitting the post.
Before the kick-off, Juventus manager Luciano Spalletti commented that David currently lacks confidence but has the potential to be a top finisher.
