Keith Olbermann Calls for Trump’s Impeachment Following U.S. Strikes on Venezuela
Former ESPN star Keith Olbermann called for President Trump’s impeachment after the U.S. conducted large-scale military strikes in Venezuela targeting Nicolás Maduro. The operations included at least seven explosions reported in Caracas and involvement of low-flying aircraft around 2 a.m. local time, according to AP.
President Trump posted on Truth Social claiming that Maduro and his wife were captured and flown out of Venezuela. Meanwhile, the Venezuelan government condemned the strikes as imperialist aggression, stating that Caracas and the states of Miranda, Aragua, and La Guaira were affected.
Attorney General Pam Bondi announced that Maduro and his wife have been indicted in the Southern District of New York. Some House Democrats criticized the strikes as potentially unconstitutional, raising concerns about executive authority.
Fox News noted that Olbermann’s call for impeachment mirrors the Democratic criticism of President Trump’s decision to authorize the strikes.
