Kimberlee Singler, 37, an American national, was extradited from Britain to the United States to face multiple charges including two counts of first-degree murder, one count of attempted murder, three counts of child abuse, and one count of assault in Colorado.

Singler was arrested in December 2023 by the UK National Crime Agency in Kensington, London. Four days after her arrest, she was found in Chelsea. The alleged killings took place in Colorado Springs, where two children were found dead shortly after midnight on December 19, 2023. An 11-year-old daughter survived with injuries. Singler sustained superficial knife wounds and initially claimed that an intruder had attacked the family.

The surviving daughter initially supported her mother’s account but later told investigators that her mother said, "God made her do it."

At the time of the incident, the family had been staying with Singler's mother amidst a custody battle. A Colorado judge had ordered a custody exchange for the holidays. GPS records indicated that Singler’s ex-husband was approximately 80 miles away during the killings.

Singler's defense in the UK argued that extradition would violate European human rights law, citing the possibility of a life-without-parole sentence. Her attorney, Edward Fitzgerald, who also represented Julian Assange, presented this challenge.

However, a Westminster magistrates’ court judge rejected Singler's extradition challenge in January 2025. Her subsequent appeal was also denied in November 2025, paving the way for her extradition to the US.
