Lamar Jackson Trade Rumors Emerge as Ravens' Playoff Hopes Dwindle in 2025 Season
As the 2025 NFL season nears its end, trade rumors surrounding Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson have begun to surface amid the team's fading playoff hopes heading into Week 17.
Jackson exited the Sunday night game against the New England Patriots due to an injury during a 28-24 loss. The defeat further diminishes the Ravens' postseason chances.
Mike Preston, a columnist for the Baltimore Sun, has suggested Jackson as a potential trade candidate for the 2026 offseason, citing the Miami Dolphins and Las Vegas Raiders as possible destinations. Despite this speculation, the Ravens have not publicly indicated that Jackson is available for trade.
Jackson is currently under a five-year, $260 million contract signed before the 2023 season, which includes $51.25 million owed in both 2026 and 2027, and a full no-trade clause.
Since his NFL debut through the 2018 to 2025 seasons, Jackson has played 115 games, accumulating 22,370 passing yards and 184 passing touchdowns, alongside 6,513 rushing yards and 35 rushing touchdowns. While the Ravens have frequently found regular-season success during his tenure, they have only reached the conference championship once.
