Led By Donkeys Projects Trump-Epstein Film onto Windsor Castle During State Visit
On September 17, 2025, activist group Led By Donkeys projected a nine-minute film about Donald Trump's relationship with Jeffrey Epstein onto Windsor Castle during Trump's state visit. Using a 32,000-lumen projector and a hidden Bluetooth speaker, they displayed the film onto a cylindrical surface featuring a royal crest. The film argued that Trump was a long-time close friend of Epstein and referenced Epstein's files mentioning Trump.
The group had booked rooms at the Harte and Garter hotel, which overlooks the castle, to facilitate the projection. The film and projection were widely circulated online, with the organizers reporting around 20 million views.
Police arrived within approximately three minutes of the projection and arrested three team members for malicious communication under a stalking law. The activists were later arrested again for public nuisance and questioned by a child protection squad, during which they were shown a photo of the projector but responded with no comment.
About a month later, all charges against the activists were dropped. Led By Donkeys described the action as guerrilla journalism and labeled the arrests as Orwellian. They claimed the stunt was successful in creating a shareable social object that sparked public discussion. Notably, in 2018, one of the group's activists, Stewart, had previously parachuted a paraglider over Turnberry during another Trump visit, which had prompted police warnings about future actions.
